This year's Downtown Draw is Saturday morning, with judging in the early afternoon. This year's theme is to tie in with The Big Read. It's always a fun event, and it's very cool to see what can be done with chalk. The weather is supposed to be good, so stop by the Green to what's happening!

Hello Waterbury Girl,
My name is Dan and I grew up in Waterbury (went to Sacred Heart High School). Just stumbled upon your page about two months ago and have been following it ever since. It's been great to be able to keep up with my home town.
In that vein, I think you might be interested in an online lit/photo mag I edit. It is called Waterlogged August Magazine (catch the Waterbury reference there? Hint: think 1955) and you can check it out at www.waterloggedaugust.com.
We're looking for writers, photographers, and artists to contribute, so if you or anyone you know is interested, point them our way. It would be a great outlet for Waterbury artists (read the ABOUT page and you'll see why).
Also, I am writing a book that is centered on the balcony at the Elton Hotel downtown. Any chance I can convince you to post a good pic of it on your blog?
