So Where Are They?

There was a big ruckus on my street tonight. Maybe half a dozen people shouting and yelling, trying to get a fight going, right in the middle of the road, blocking traffic. I called the police, but they don't seem to have shown up. Half an hour after I called, the noise finally settled down by itself (although it sounds like it still might start back up). If the police did come by, I don't think they got out of the vehicle.

What bothers me the most is that there is some very obvious drug dealing that's been going on for the past six months or more. Where are the police? At least one of my neighbors has numerous visitors every day who pull up to the curb, get out of the car, go inside, come back out five minutes later and leave. (There's some shady stuff going on in one of the houses further down the street as well.) If that many people are coming here to buy drugs, shouldn't the police have figured it out by now and done something about it?

The Waterbury police department certainly deserves praise for the big city-wide busts they do a couple times a year, but where are they the rest of the time?

Actually they are out looking for "criminals" who are idling their cars for more than 3 minutes or talking on their cell phones.

Drugs should just be legal. Look at the nice profit your neighbor gets to make that should be taxed. Appearantly last week's bust has not curbed any demand for the product. Legalize and regulate!!!!
